An Interview With Click-A-Doo Dipes. Come Meet and Shop!

Most cloth diaper parents can name 5 big cloth diaper companies easy.

I want you to know the big guys but one of my goals is for you to be able to name 10 WAHMs!  Every big company started as a little WAHM/D.  Sharing these early stage companies with you brings me joy and hopefully new customers to them!

Today I am interviewing Rochelle of Click-A-Doo Dipes.

Tell us about your family.

I have been married to my best friend for 12 years and I am the mom to 2 wonderful kids, 8 and 3 years old.  We live in the beautiful Northwest in Spokane, Wa.

Along with taking care of my family I also work full time. I am the medical asst. for a Pediatric Neurosurgeon.  A job that challenges my mind ,and through the people we see everyday, makes me appreciate the blessing I have in my life.

Between all this I make diapers!  I have a small production simply because I have not figured out how to give up sleep to allow me more time in the day!  I work in the evenings a little and on the weekends.  I am the only one that does any sewing on my diapers so I am  literally a one woman show!  On occasion my Mother helps me cut out soakers but that is it, all sewing is done by me and me alone.  I have always been a believer in quality not quantity so I don’t see that changing.

When did you start using cloth diapers?

I was introduced to cloth by a friend when my 2nd child was 1, and at first I thought it sounded crazy!  But then she showed me a diaper and I thought, “I would much rather wear that then a scratchy paper diaper!” So I looked into it and could not help thinking how great it would be to not have to worry about running out of diapers!  You always have then on hand!  I decided to give it a go and started small, knowing I would not use them for my son at daycare, but really gave it a go for at home.

I quickly found I loved them and how easy they were to use and care for.  I am also so happy to say I have been able to pay it forward and have introduced several other people to cloth and wool who otherwise would never have given it a thought!  I got a late start but so happy I did it at all!

Why did get into the business of making/selling of cloth diapers?

After I had been using cloth for a while I started to see all these cute print diapers and loved the hand made ones.  Unfortunately, so did a lot of other people and I was never fast enough to snap up the ones I wanted, so I decided, I know how to sew, so, I’m going to make my own!

It was not as easy to do as I had thought, and had more then a few duds, but I learned from all my mistakes and made the next one better.  Once I was really happy with them I realized I wanted to keep making them and share them with others.  Using my own fit needs and what I wanted in a diaper I thought I had a unique fit and thought others might find them to be a great diaper just as I had.

What makes your diaper unique and why should I choose your diapers?

I put great care into every diaper I make so they are a top quality diaper and I find that they have a slightly different fit being wider across the bum and have great absorbent soakers.

What is your favorite product you make?

My current fav is my fitted.  Although my son was PT’d by the time I decided to make the perfect fitted and never actually got to try one, it has all the things I had looked for and was never quite able to find. (It is SO soft, absorbent and pure yumminess!)

Click are amazing diapers. I have a good stash of them (10 or so). I love my AI2’s as well admit fitted & wool. I even use Click soap!
The customer service is the best part. Rochelle is a really sweet person.

  2. Emily D Says:

They look pretty good, and I absolutely love the prints! Have you ever used them Autumn?

  3. Kristin Says:

Yay! I love clicks!!! I only own one, but my next one is in the mail. Congrats to Rochelle for this interview, but I hope she doesn’t get too famous or I won’t be able to afford anymore diapers from her. She mentioned her diapers being wide, that is one of the reasons I love her diapers. I can put any insert in them, even a wide Flip Stay Dry. So I can reuse her cute diaper as a cover if I want to :-)
