Birth of Rumparooz cloth diapers

by Autumn Beck on March 8, 2010 · 32 comments

I am such a huge fan of Rumparooz cloth diapers.  I’ve even rubbed this love off on a friend of mine who now has 8 for her 2 year old!

Julie and her family have been blessed with an amazing success story.  She shares a bit of it with us in her video Birth of Rumparooz.

If you’d like to purchase a Rumparooz cloth diaper you may do so directly from Rumparooz or from one of her many retailers.

** WINNER HAS BEEN CHOSEN! THANK YOU FOR ALL WHO PARTICIPATED.**I’d also be blessed if you would take a minute to answer an 8 question survey. Once you have answered the 8 questions you will have the opportunity to add your name and email and be entered into a drawing for a NEW Goodmama bamboo fitted. This is a special Goodmama I won from the Goodmama blog and I’d love to pass it on to you. Click the link below to get started.

I see the Rumparooz 6R soaker comes in hemp or microfiber… what do you recommend? Also, the company says it fits newborns. Is that really the case? Is there a scoop for the cord?

My readers responded loudly to me that Rumparooz will definitely fit a newborn. There is no scoop for the cord, however. The Rumparooz Lil’ Joeys are specifically for newborns. I have only used the 6r microfiber. It’s always been absorbent enough for nighttime when both layers are used.

I took the survey… don’t know if I’m too late for the Goodmama diaper giveaway entry or not…?

Thank you, Erin, for your participation. I apologize for not editing this post. I did choose a winner for the Goodmama already.

OMG- see, that’s what passion and love and motivation can do- I am almost moved to tears by that video… I’ve always wanted to try a RAR, and I think I’m going to go buy 2 right now. Amazing. THANK YOU for sharing that, Autumn!

Great video. I’ve heard of RARs but the video just made me buy one. Thanks for the post. What an awesome story.

Oooohh, really want them! I promised my husband after the last big purchase that would be it…. hopefully dd grows out of some soon ( difficult as most are os :) ). Almost makes me want to start trying for the next baby just to have an excuse to buy more!

I have been eyeing these for ahwile.. and now after watching that video I want them even more…. Guess I’m gonna have to splurge and buy some…

Great video! LOVE LOVE LOVE the song…the pics…the story! Awesome! Inspiring! I too love Rumparooz. I only have one so far. I’ve tried cutting corners w/Happy Heiney knock offs from ebay but I’m starting to see the real difference after just a couple of months of full time CDing. Rumparooz are one of my faves! Love your blog, too. Very real, very imformative!

11 Katarina March 9, 2010 at 5:09 pm

Nice video! I love success stories like that! Do not own any RAR but definitely going to try them. Does anybody have any suggestion where to buy them from? Thanks!

12 Autumn Beck March 9, 2010 at 5:12 pm

Katarina, I’ve purchased all my Rumparooz from Cloth Diaper Superstore and Banana Peels Diapers.

13 Jillian March 9, 2010 at 4:27 pm

I love my RaR’s. They are the best diaper, never had a poopy leak & their customer service rocks!

14 Casey March 9, 2010 at 3:49 pm

Wow- great video. So nice to see the story of a sucessful WAHM. Inspiring.
Will definitely check out RaR!

15 Nicole March 9, 2010 at 12:46 pm

That was a wonderful video…I don’t know if it was the pregnancy horomones – but it made me tear up watching the growth of RAR! I might just have to add a couple of LilJoey’s for the noob!!!! ;)

We love our rumparooz! I purchased 2 of them after looking through your reviews and after a week I knew we were in love! We purchased another 4. We are expecting baby #3 in early Nov and are thinking about getting some Lil’ joeys for a newborn. I am really looking forward to the review, but I am expecting great thing from such a great company. I didn’t start cding until my last one was 3 1/2 months old, so nb cding is a whole new concept. We will most likely be adding a few more RaRs to our stash in the coming months.

17 Sabrina March 9, 2010 at 11:30 am

oh. how deep my love for RaR runs. my entire stash of 40+ diapers for both my kids (now only x1 in dipes) is rumparooz. they’re such a work horse diaper. baby #3 will for sure be rocking the same diapers as their Sisters.

18 Autumn Beck March 9, 2010 at 5:12 pm

Sabrina, could you share with us when you started using Rumparooz on your newborns?

19 alison March 9, 2010 at 10:40 am

We love RAR and have gone strictly to them! Great job RAR!

20 Cindi March 9, 2010 at 10:40 am

The video made me cry like a baby…what a touching story and tribute. Thank you for posting this. I love the back story!

21 Sheena March 9, 2010 at 9:20 am

Wow…what a great video…gave me goose bumps…I love hearing success stories…makes me wish I would have started cloth diapering sooner :) Instead of when my fourth child was four months…and we had to do to skin problems as well and she couldn’t wear disposables :) Awesome!

22 Emily March 9, 2010 at 8:59 am

Would you suggest the lil joeys over the one size? I am debating between the two but I don’t like spending money on diapers that will be used for a very short time, however, I do want them to fit well.

23 Autumn Beck March 9, 2010 at 12:02 pm

Emily, I have not used Lil’ Joeys. However, Heather of Banana Peels Diapers is using them on her newborn and loves them. She will be writing up a review for me once Brennan outgrows them (~12lbs). I have found it necessary to buy newborn diapers until 12lbs then transition into one-size.

24 Kim March 9, 2010 at 8:49 am

I have ONE Rumparooz! I love it! I love the elastic gatherings in the inside of diaper to prevent leaks. I love how incredibly soft it is next to my baby’s bum. I also appreciate that it comes in cute patterns. Yes…the diaper needs to function but I am so addicted to the cuteness of them too! Oh how I would like more….but I am slowly learning that having a variety of one or two diapers of every kind is very satisfying!!!!!

25 Rasa March 9, 2010 at 7:44 am

We love Rumparooz, it is great diapers! And nice too. And its
history nice. We wish the best future for this company. Best regards from

very cool!

27 Bethany March 9, 2010 at 12:34 am

I forgot the add this on the survey, but I would love to see a review on Antsy Pants. They are expensive, but look oh so irresistable, I mean interesting!! I think you will find them the same way.

28 Ceri March 9, 2010 at 12:19 am

I love RaRs! They heal my daughter’s eczema — literally heal it!! I just bought 4 more tonight … I’m so excited :) :):) I love learning about families who take negative experiences and use them for the better. My husband and I strive for this ourselves, and Julie and Autumn’s experience endears me to Kanga Care all the more — especially as my own daughter suffers from eczema! But all that aside, RaRs are still simply the best diaper I’ve ever put my daughter in. :)

29 puan punyer March 9, 2010 at 12:16 am

it really touching video..

30 Mary M. March 9, 2010 at 12:07 am

oh, after i finished your survey, I thought of something. can you have, whether as a subcatgory or a separate box, a list of links to specific branded diaper reviews?

31 Kbjohnsonfam March 8, 2010 at 11:56 pm

that was a great video. inspiring.

32 Grateful for Grace March 8, 2010 at 11:54 pm

I am so in love with my 8 (now 10, about to be 12) Rumparooz, it’s ridiculous. I am giddy to have diapers that are so stinkin’ easy to use, so soft, so good for his skin, so versatile (I really hope to get another baby to use with them), and so cute! I can’t thank you enough for turning me on to them. Never in a million years would I have guessed I’d spend $23.50 for one diaper, but it was worth saving up for them. They are perfect!

I’m even happier to know such great things about the designer/owner.

You’re so very helpful, Autumn.
