I have just started cloth diapering my baby, he's 5 months right now. I am wondering if I can use only hemp inserts?

We have fuzzibunz pockets and happy heinys but they just seem so bulky (coming from disposables). Is this just something that you adjust to?

Hello everyone! I was wondering about liners.
My baby is 4 months old and she will start solids soon and I know her poop will change and it won't be the easy to wash away breast milk poop.
See, I don't like to store the dirty diapers... dirty! I normally rise and almost wash by hand the prefolds, pocket shells and inserts before putting them in the diaper pail. So... this process is easier with breast milk poop, but with solids its a different story. I'm thinking maybe I'll make thing simple by using liners.
So the question is, Which is the best brand, do I use reusable or biodegradable?
Thanks!

Hey all!
I will be a first time mom come October and a first time CD user so I have to literally start at square 1. I have put the following items on my registry to start me off on this journey but I was hoping that ya'll could take a look at my list and help me figure out if I'm missing stuff or not? Or maybe I don't have the right stuff?? I've taken advice i've read online to try out a few CD to see what works before I go crazy and splurge on all of one kind. I figured that when our girl is a newborn I will mostly use disposables and prefolds in the newborn stage and will really get into the bulk of CD when our girl is a bit larger.

What I have registered for:
2 OsoCozy prefolds Size 1 & 2
Snappis
1 Daiper cover
Lil Joey 2 pack (for infant)
Kissaluvs one size Hybrid daipers
1 Swaddlebee one size All in one
1 Happy Heiney All in one
1 BumGenuis one-size hook & Loop
1 Thirsties Duo Wrap
1 Rumparooz
1 Flip One Size
1 Fuzzi Bunz One size Diaper
2 Fuzzibuns microfiber inserts S& M/L
1 Wetbag
1 Planet Green

I figure the all in ones and the pocket diapers will be easier for me and my husband - am I right? Totally CD clueless!! UGH! They are all going to show up and I'm not going to know how to put them on!!!

I think someone recently asked this about night time...but just generally speaking now, can some of you compare and contrast for me?? I have a few ducky bunz with hemp in them that are falling apart (got a really good deal that probably wasn't such a good deal!!) and that's my only comparison since this is the beginning for me and CD. Trying to decide what to replace them with when they give out. I'm using them with Fuzibunz perfect size lg pockets right now.

I'm very new to CD and right now I have 2 fuzzibunz AIO, 2 grovia and a flipp and about 10 soakers and some fleece liners. I don't stuff any of the pockets so that I can get more use out of the fuzzibunzs but I'm washing all of them every night and I just feel that they are going to wear out quick. What is a good amount of CD to have?

Oh my goodness! At first I thought the diaper pail just smelt like we diapers but as time has gone on, the smell has definately stepped it up a notch. I usually wash every other day (no cloth at daycare yet) but still the smell of ammonia when I open the diaper pail lid is enough to bring me to my knees. I have been sprinkling baking soda over them but it is not helping. Any suggestions?

I just started using cloth diapers. My daughter is almost 6 months old. I bought some cloth diapers the brand sunbaby and we aren't having much luck with them. My babysitter more than me. I always have to leave 3 and 4 outfits for my daughter because of all the accidents. She says that it comes out from legs like she can't get the legs tight enough. Now the diapers that I bought are one size pocket diapers with inserts. They leak and just don't seem to last but two or three hours and forget trying to get them to last through the night Now I don't know if it is the inserts or if it is because we don't know what we are doing. Please help me!!!!! I love using cloth diapers but they are becoming frustrating.
