I LOVE my Flip diapers. They are affordable and easy to use. This is the only kind we bought to save money. Our daycare uses them for us too. We had some stains on the covers but nothing too bad until recently. My daughter is 5 months old and we've been on cereal for a month already because she needs to pack on some pounds and her poop has really been staining the covers. There are really dark stains on several of the covers and they still stink like poop! I've noticed the stain and smell in the wipes and inserts too, but I do the monthly bleach wash like they say to and the inserts come clean but the covers do not. What can I do???? Our routine is to just toss them in the dry pail and then dump them in the washer and do a cold rinse followed by a hot wash with ALL free and clear. Once a month we do 1/4 bleach in a cold wash followed by the hot wash. In the summer I line dried the covers and any stained inserts and that helped some. If I can get them clean I don't know if the problem will be as bad b/c we have had to start using the disposable liners (GroVia bioliners). The more solid it gets the less likely it will get on the cover. Any help would be great!
I would suggest you rinse before you dry pail. You might also want to use an enzyme cleaner like biokleen or nature's remedy in your cold soak/rinse. (Check to make sure this doesn't void your warranty first.)
This phase of poop doesn't last super long depending on how their tummies react to solids. You have easily shakeable, a bit less stinky, peanut butter like poo in your future. ( My LO is 8 months and we've been on solids for 2.5 months.)
