I was givin some Gerber flats I will have to try it to see how it works although Im sure Im setting myself up to fail using Gerbers.Amie

I hear ya Amie! I got some Gerber flats as a shower gift, but have never used them as anything but burp cloths....maybe I will get brave and try them ;)Lea

So I gave the Gerbers a shot and they work pretty well, it tooke me a couple trys to get the fold down but I got the hang of it. I dont know if I could do it for a week and have to hand wash though at least not this year Im finding it hard enough to find time to take a shower lol.Amie

I have some Gerber ones. They work if you fold one up as a doubler in the middle. Do you live near an IKEA? I hear they are excellent!Autumn Beck

When is it going to be held this year? I'm thinking about doing it. What flats do you recommend? Are there some that are more absorbent than others? I only have a few prefolds from when I first started cd'ing and before I switched to pockets.

I'm not doing Kim's challenge, but I can answer some other questions.
Good Flats:
Swaddlebees has good flats. They are a true square which is very helpful if you are trying something like my favorite origami fold.
How to fold flats:
I have some good tutorial links on my Pinterest Board here... http://pinterest.com/boisewiebers/cloth-diapers/. Currently I am trying out the Jo fold on my 19 month old daughter. It's super easy and is working well for the past two weeks.
I think all basic birdseye flats are probably the same as far as absorbency is concerned. You can use items such as receiving blankets too.Trisha (SAHM of 7)
