Well, the tornado season officially started here in Iowa. We had our first "drill" put out by the national weather service today. Which reminds me... I need to set up our emergency bag in the basement in case of a tornado... Usually I put it down in the pantry and I have in it a pair of shoes for me (since I am usually barefoot), a change of clothes for the kids, some energy bar type things, disposable diapers for the youngest ones, a couple flashlights.. and whatever else I think of when I am packing it up. :)
Oh, Cristy, I do not envy you. I know every year you go through the prep but I'd probably have an anxiety attack! A few weeks ago we had severe weather and near tornado winds and my husband was at a meeting! He drove home trying to be it and praise the Lord he did but I was freaking out.

We never used to have severe weather here but over the past 3 years that has changed. We get alot of tornado watches now and have had 3 tornado warnings (1 of which actually set down about 1/4 mile from our house). I hadn't really even thought about preparing an emergency kit but I suppose it would be a good idea. Incidently all the tornado warnings we have had have coincided with my being pregnant. A couple of weeks ago we were in the basement waiting out a warning when my 9 year old enlightened me that everytime I get pregnant we get tornados. lol.
