I'm brand new to cloth diapering (just started this morning after lots of reading and researching). My question is concerning poop. I know that breastfed babies' poop is water soluble, my son is in one sense EBF, but as a preemie he receives 3 bottles of breast milk fortified with neosure each day. He also gets iron each day. Is his poop still water soluble or does the presence of a little formula in the breast milk make it not water soluble?
In the beginning we were regularly supplementing with formula. I never had any trouble with the poop not rinsing cleanly from the diapers. I tossed them poopfilled straight into the washer.
Thanks so much! I wasn't clear about it so that helps a lot! I haven't washed a dirty load of diapers yet, so as of now it's all a big experiment for us!
