I just wanted to share this link with my fellow cloth diapering mommas that wince at the cost of cloth diaper safe diapering creams. I made it a couple of weeks ago and it is absolutely wonderful! DD had a rash that was problematic and extended down the inside of her thigh. I had been using a non-cloth diaper safe ointment on her and had her in sposies for 3 days and was seeing no results. I made this cream, put her back in her cloth, used the cream that night and the next morning there was an 80% improvement and by the next day it was gone. I also had a sore come up on my lip (don't know if it was the start of a fever blister or what) but I dabbed a little of this on it that night and the next morning it was gone. When I made it the only alteration I made was that I added a little more oil than called for as when I let it harden on the stirrer with the recommended amounts it was a little firmer than what I thought it should be...so I ended up using about 4 1/2 oz. of oil instead of 3 1/2, but that could also be due to the fact that I may have had a little more bees wax than called for. I got the wax from my stepdad that raises bees so I had to guesstimate the amt. But the good thing about the recipe is that you can add more oil a little at a time and pull the stirrer out and let it cool to test the consistency (I held it in the freezer for about 30 seconds to speed up the cooling process) Anyways, here it is:
Thank you for posting this! I even have all these ingredients already ;) I have been making lotions and other body products at home because natural body care products are SO expensive! I have a homemade belly butter recipe I found and used all throughout my pregnancy...the stuff is fabulous, (not a single stretch mark and my tummy got BiG) and I use it for dry skin and other things too, it's great. Thanks again for posting!
Oh, and when I've made the belly butter I've put less cocoa butter and used some coconut oil...I've put the exact amounts of everything except the cocoa butter (the jar of cocoa butter I bought was expensive, so I didn't want to use the whole thing for one batch).
