My daughter has been getting large red areas on her thighs recently. It's very warm to the touch and seems like it hurts her. The red marks are only on the outside of her diaper and stop right where her diaper begins. Our main diaper is made up of almost all pocket diapers. We have been cloth diapering for just over a year the whole time with pocket diapers and have never had this problem so I don't think it's a sensitivity to the PUL. However, since she has no rash inside the diaper I'm not sure what else it could be because it doesn't really look like chaffing to me. Any thoughts would help?
I know I'm a little late commenting and hope your problems have cleared up! If they haven't, you may want to consult your pediatrician. Red, painful, and warm to the touch can often be signs of a cellulitis type infection. Hope your LO is doing well. :)
