After reading a bunch of great reviews on wet bags, I just switched from a dry pail to Monkey Foot Designs wet bags. I'm loving the convenience of the wet bag, and the prints are absolutely darling! They seem very well made and high quality. However, I'm experiencing major stink issues with them, which I'm so bummed about! I wash every other day, but by the time wash day rolls around, my bathroom smells so terrible, it's embarrassing! Good thing I don't have company over very often. I notice the smell leaking mostly from the zipper area of the wet bag. Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong? What do you do to keep your bathroom (or changing area) smelling good and not like a bag full of day old diapers?
I'm fairly new to CD, and I'm really loving most aspects of it. It's been so much easier than I expected. But I really dislike all the trial and error I have to go through to find the perfect diapers and routine for us. Ugh! Any suggestions would be much appreciated! :-)
We tried putting essential oils on the little white tab inside the bag(not sure if urs has it). You can buy it at Kelly's closet, or most retail stores. Hope that helps!
You should contact Kris, the WAHM making the Monkey Foot Designs wetbags, either through facebook or email. She is awesome and I am sure she will help you solve the problem!! My baby's diapers stink after a few days, but my MFD wetbags keep the smell in really well, I only notice once I open the bag to put another diaper in!
One tip is to try and keep the zipper area dry. The zipper will leak so don't overstuff your wetbag and try keeping the diapers from making the zipper wet when putting them in the bag.
Hope this helps! Karianne
