Cloth Diapering and High Efficiency, Front Loader Washing Machine
Hello Everyone! Our top loading washing machine recently bit the dust. When shopping for a new machine, we wound up purchasing a GE front loader, high efficiency machine. We simply were not able to find a traditional top loading machine with the other specifications that we needed it to have. Our son has been in disposables since the old washer has been broken, and also because of some fitting issues with the one size fitted diapers. I think that he is no longer between sizes, so I can get him back into cloth diapers now. My issue, now, is how to get the diapers clean in the new machine. I have heard horror stories online about the high efficiency machines and cloth diapering. Does anyone have any tips. I am also interested in knowing how to strip the diapers in this kind of machine. I did the Dawn dish detergent mediated strip a couple of times in my old washer. I don't know if I can use this in the high efficiency machine without damaging it.
when visiting parents and having to use their frontloaders, i've found the rockin green frontloader database very helpful:
unfortunately i don't know the answer to your Dawn question.

Great! Thank you so much! We do use Rockin' Green detergent, so I will definitely check out the details on their website.
I know the answer to the Dawn question. DO NOT use Dawn in a front loader. The additional suds will void your warranty!
