Snappi Fail
Just put your fingers inside the diaper so if anyone gets poked it will be you. I used nothing but pins for years back when it was basically the only option and I never poked my daughter.

Big Kiddos Need Big Diaps!
If you have receiving blankets and some fleece pants you could replace some of the sposies with those each day and use the savings to build a small stash.

What is the best of the cheap pockets?
I just wanted to say that I won a pocket from Baby Babu and I LOVE it! Their pockets are $10, have an inner gusset, dual openings (the insert agitates out in the wash) and nice, thick pul. As a bonus they have really cute prints and some with adorab…

Turning a pocket diaper into a cover?
I agree with Whitney, it might be uncomfortable on the edges if you cut out the inside. I've used a pocket as a cover with the inside intact. The only downside was that this particular pocket has a very fluffy inner part and it ended up being r…

Booty Buns and Go Green Champ OS cloth diapers
I've decided I'm really a pocket girl and I've figured out what features I want in my perfect pocket. I want front and back openings, a hip snap and cute prints. I haven't decided if I like the snap down rise or the elastic style…

I know the answer to the Dawn question. DO NOT use Dawn in a front loader. The additional suds will void your warranty!

Can you use Tide on cloth diapers?
Natalie, I would start with washing the clean diapers in hot water 3-4 times to make sure there isn't any soap left in your diapers. Beyond that I don't know.

How to Strip Detergent From Cloth Diapers?
Most people suggest several hot washes without soap first. I'm talking about 3-4 full wash cycles without any soap. Then if that doesn't help a soak in RLR or Rockin' Green's funk rock.

My Washing Routine - Autumn Beck
Autumn, should I be concerned that my clean diapers have a faint bac-out smell? My routine in a Speed queen commercial f/l with no fancy setting options: warm wash delicate cycle (more water that way) with a full country save scoop of bac-out, col…

looking for cloth diapers
There are a couple of online charities but I don't know all the links. I would try Craig's list for low cost purchasing and Freecycle for free.

help: new to cloth and undecided
For used check Craig's list. I found a ton of great options on there. Also, if you have Freecycle in your community post a wanted. Someone might be done with theirs and be willing to pass them on. Those two sources are where I got 95% of my sta…

What is the best of the cheap pockets?
I used my pockets as a cover with pre-folds a lot when my dd was still tiny. I found it was a lot less bulky then using the huge inserts that came with my pockets and I only had to switch to a new cover when she pooped (pre-folds don't hold in …

What do you think of the new Bum Genius Freetime?
I won a bumgenius freetime in a drawing and I love it for night on my 5 month old. Maybe she's not a heavy wetter but it seems to work really nicely. I think it's a little bulky compared to my pocket diapers which is why I mainly use it at…

How to CD a Newborn
My dd weighed just over 8 lbs. at birth and I found that the one size diapers fit her OK by about 9 lbs. but not with inserts. The inserts were just too bulky. I couldn't afford to go out and buy/rent newborn covers so I decided to make the O/S…

How to lanolize wool
All of my wool covers are homemade from recycled wool sweaters. I just sew them up into pull on covers. I have yet to successfully lanolize them. I tried doing it with baby wash and it didn't work very well. I'm thinking I need to go ahead…

Found them, thanks. Where is the pocket? Is it at the top of the back or is it more like the Rumparooz? I can't tell from the pictures on the site.

I just got an Alva diaper in the mail. I haven't tried it yet but I'll let you know what I think. I bought a super cute girly print and my little girl isn't born yet so I may have to try it out on my 3 yr. old boy, lol! I'll have…

Can you use Tide on cloth diapers?
My thought is that if the one downside to Country Save is the lack of enzymes and I use biokleen with every prewash even if I were to use a detergent like Tide that has enzymes I may as well reap the savings of using Country Save instead of using th…

Do your fitteds get stinky faster than others?
I made pocket fitteds (Rita's Rump pattern) and it was a nice compromise. I still had to use a cover but having the soaker separate really helps with the cleaning process.

Snappi or Pin? What do you use?
They didn't even have snappis back when I first started using pre-folds in the early 90's! The only pinless option was putting the prefold in a velcro cover (which I never had much success with). I never have gotten the hang of using a sna…
