Wool - what am I doing wrong??!
Not sure if it will make a difference, but the first time I lanolised all my cover, I let it sit overnight in the lanolin solution. If that doesn't work Motherease makes a breathable PUL cover.

Wipe solution and Diaper Rash Cream advice
I use dry wipes and a spritz bottle too. I used to get Kissaluvs diaper lotion potion, but now I just make it of what ever I have! Today I made it with 3oz water, 2 squirts of witch hazel, 1 tablespoon Earth Mama Angel Baby shampoo/baby wash, 1/2 te…

I make my own detergent. Can I use this on cloth diapers?
http://pinstripesandpolkadots.com/detergentchoices.htm Ivory snow isn't recommended. Cloth mamas that make their own soap seem to use equal parts washing soda, borax and oxygen cleaner (something free of dyes and perfumes). I haven't tried…

Please Help! New to cloth and having Ammonia problems
http://blog.diapershops.com/troubleshooting-how-to-strip-cloth-diapers I would try Dawn and 1/4 cup bleach. I don't know why so many mamas are afraid of using bleach! Know what our grandmother's used to get their diapers clean? Bleach. It …

Have I wrecked my diapers and given my LO a rash?
Front loaders have them too. Believe me. I couldn't figure out why my machine wasn't draining and the technician came and found 2 of my bamboobie nursing pads in the lint trap (I blamed my husband for losing them). Yes Walmart will have th…

I would suggest stripping your diapers. I strip any used diapers I get. BumGenius suggests you use 1 tablespoon blue dawn (for a top loader) or 1 teaspoon (for a front loader along with 1/4 bleach. Run through at least 2 long hot washes then rinse u…

Have I wrecked my diapers and given my LO a rash?
It's good the technician is coming out. Your lint trap in your washing machine is most likely full of the bits from that mat. I would use a washing machine cleaner after your technician does that for you. I use one Clorox makes on a monthly bas…

Ready to give up b/c of leaking problems!!
I'm confused. Are your diapers soaked after he pees or dry. The way I'm interpreting it is that he and the diapers are soaked. If so, congratulations! You have a heavy wetter! You're going to need some extra absorption behind the micr…

Help!! Buildup and Ammonia Issues
Have you tried stripping with blue dawn? After your diapers are clean, run a load with maybe a tablespoon of it. Rinse until there's no more bubbles. I second calgon though. I use 1/8 cup every load (I have a front loader though).

Diaper cream and Bum Genius
My son also has eczema. CJ's BUTTer is your solution! It's cloth diaper safe. You basically want to avoid zinc creams with cloth diapers. CJ's is extra moisturizing for little butts and pretty much everything else. I put it on bug bit…

bumGenius detergent
I have hard water and a front loader. Isn't that what you have? I'm considering Crunchy Clean's hard formula too. I've seen you recommend Clean B too, but diaperpin.com had some not so good reviews on it.

Never mind! I just checked out my son's vaccinations, and he has had 3 polio vaccinations so far! Don't think he has contagious diapers either... :)

I've never heard of that! To be safe, 212 is the temp of boiling water so after your dipes are clean, boil them! Then I would run an empty cycle through the machine with some bleach. I think American babies don't get the polio vaccine unti…

Red bottom and husband ready to throw in the c/d towel
FIrst of all, 1 teaspoon of Rockin Green is going to do you no good. You need 1 TABLESPOON of it. You should be washing on hot, not warm. Is your water heater cranked up all the way? Make sure it is. Then do a soak overnight in your bathtub with the…
