GADbaby’s New Rockin’ Green Cloth Diaper Detergent

You know what I love about cloth diapering? I’m never bored.  And I never have to worry about money burning a hole in my pocket!

Despite my complete satisfaction in using Kirkland’s Environmentally friendly detergent, I always have this guilt for not using something from a WAHM.

There is something so special about supporting a family, not to mention the pride in using a product that you know was made in the kitchen with the help of the whole family.

When I saw that a “neighbor” had created a natural laundry detergent and one that was perfect for my hard water, I knew I had to try it.

Rockin’ Green Detergent is lovely.  The scent is not overwhelming, but perfectly pleasant.  Before using Rockin’ Green I thoroughly stripped my cloth diapers.  I wanted to make sure to get an accurate assessment of how this detergent works in the long run.

So far I am pleased with the performance.  I always encourage the use of hand-made products.  This is one you won’t be disappointed with.

Before I tell you more about Rockin’ Green I have to tell you a story.  Kim, the GADbaby mama, also sells Green Acre Designs (GADs) cloth diapers.  I always assumed that Kim was the creator of GAD.

Why? Because she has done an amazing job of establishing herself as the GAD website.  It wasn’t until I clicked on her “contact us” page that I discovered she was simply a lover of GAD cloth diapers.

As a WAHM that runs an internet business and is very familiar with internet marketing, I must say Kim has me impressed.  Not to mention, GAD cloth diapers are arguably the best pocket diaper available and that has me coming back to her website many times a week (to window shop of course ;) ).

If you haven’t tried a GAD pocket cloth diaper, you are missing out on the trimmest pocket I have ever used.  They fit like a glove and now you can even choose a luxurious bamboo inner!

GIVEAWAY!! Kim has generously offered a chance for one reader to win a GAD cloth diaper in their choice of insert and color! (details below)

Below is a description of Rockin’ Green Cloth Diaper Detergent taken from the GADbaby website:

Does your rock hard water have you down?

Are you sick and tired of battling with stinky diapers?

Then Rockin’ Green should be on your cloth diaper playlist! It comes in 2 rockin’ formulas and tons of sweet fragrances, which is music to anyone’s ears.

Choose from:

* Soft Rock: A mellow tune that is great for the sensitive little ones in your life.

* Classic Rock: This is the sound that started it all. Our original formula is great for diapers and regular clothes. So use it on everything!

In one of these yummy fragrances-

* unscented
* fresh linen
* baby powder
* cherry almond (this is the one I have…YUM!)
* vanilla lavender
* monkey snacks
* lemon
* cherry lemonade
* brown sugar
* cucumber mint
* ocean rain
* vanilla buttercream
* berrie & cream

This diaper detergent was born out of necessity and perfected over many months. It’s made of all natural stuff, which is good for the planet, and is great for sensitive kiddos that have trouble with conventional soaps. Best of all, it is totally safe for cloth diapers, so you don’t have to worry about repelling.

Got hard water? We got you covered- this stuff was designed to bust through the minerals and grime and leave you with clean smelling, sparkly diapers.

Here’s what a few lucky testers had to say about Rockin’ Green:

- I’m amazed and thrilled that your detergent didn’t break my baby out! My diapers have never looked better!

-I just want to tell you that after many many washes with your detergent I can’t bear to use anything else! It is fantastic for our water and gets my dipes so so so clean. Much better than anything else I have used. Thank you! And if you ever think you are going to stop making it please let me know so I can make a LARGE order.

- I love, love, love the detergent, so I will be back for more. It was like a cloth diapering miracle! Now, what the heck do I do with 30lbs of unused Country Save?

-It is fabulous. It’s wonderful!! I need more!!

- I liked it! Used the last of it today and want more.;)

- Clean diapers, no stinkies and no extra rinses. Liked it a lot!

-So much BETTER than my old routine! It will be much easier on my front loader. I won’t have to strip the dipes all the time anymore.

    My favorite things to do with my kids is to curl up and read a book together. From 2 to 9, they all love this too.

  2. jeniver Says:

    My favorite cloth diapers happen to be ones I have made recently. They are pockets with Alova Suedecloth as an inner and PUL as the outer. I have extended the rise and tabs to fit my son and love them. He is 27 months and no where near potty training, so these will last a while.
    I would love to try GADbaby's pockets or any other pocket that is trim and easily adjustable. I prefer snaps over velco and like fitted back and legs.

  3. Denise Says:

    Baking is my favorite thing to do with my kids, even my 2 yr old loves to stir cake or cookie batter.

  4. Denise Says:

    My blueberry OS minky is my current favorite & I'm eager to try the GAD I ordered last week.

    My favorite thing to do with my kids is…put my 2 month old in the baby bjorn and bake all sorts of goodies for daddy so that my daughter can surprise him with a home cooked meal and a dessert after a long hard day at work. She reaps the benefits of he being a happy and proud dad and I reap the benefits of having a happy and sometimes more romantic husband……:)

    My favorite thing to do with my daughter is to tickle her. Baby giggles are the sweetest sound ever!

  23. sherilm Says:

    Our cloth diaper supply isn't very extensive. Right now my favorite would have to be the BumGenious 3.0. However, we only use it at night because of the bulk but it's great at keeping everything in until morning. I would love to try the GADBaby diapers. My daughter is very small for her age and a trim diaper would be great!

  24. Rachel Says:

    So far my favorite thing to do with my son is talk to him while he kicks me. It should get more interesting once he shows up.

  25. Rachel Says:

    My baby hasn't arrived yet, so I don't have a favorite cloth diaper. I'm planning on using prefolds with thirsties covers but would also like to try the gdiapers and gro baby system.

  26. Lori Says:

    My favorite thing to do with my DD (7 months) is to listen to her giggle, it just melts my heart. :)

  27. slee Says:

    love to sing and bake with Mongoosine, and I LOVE late night cuddelz with Snapdragon!
    The two of them together? That's a tough one because he's all infanty and she's all 10! We all enjoy a good brightly colored movie together.

  28. Lori Says:

    My current fave diaper is BumGenius AIO.

    I am dying to try the GAD Pocket Diaper – not trying to sound like a brown noser, but I'd love to see for myself why Autumn says they are the best pocket diaper. Everyone always says BG are the best, so I'd love to compare the 2!

  29. Natasha Dueck Says:

    My favorite cloth diapers are the bumgenius aio. They fit my 6-month-old perfectly, and no leaks so far. I really want to try some Grobabies.
    And since my son is only 6 months old, the thing I love to do with him is make him giggle.

  36. Nancy Says:

    My favorite thing to do with my daughter is just play with her. I love to see her smile and have fun. She's almost 8 months old so there isn't much we can do at this point as far as activities go.

  37. Janel Says:

    Don't have a favorite diaper since I haven't started cloth diapering yet (baby #3 is due in October) but I have been buying a few brands here and there to try and this one looks great as well! So far I have a few BumGenius, and some gDiapers. Favorite thing to do with my kids is to make cookies or bread!

  38. Nancy Says:

    I think my favorite right now is GAD (so I'd love to win this giveaway). I haven't tried the GroBaby system so I've been wanting to try that.

  39. Kathleen Says:

    My favourite thing to do with my son is to wear him in our wrap-tai carrier, and snuggle. He loves being close but still looking around, and so we get to take walks or he can nap that way; he's starting to babble (and talk just a little), so it's a wonderful way to be close while doing other things and socialise.

  40. Kathleen Says:

    My favourite diaper right now is our Tohu Boho Baby Chic (Lilies of the Valley) diaper. It's a new one made by a SAHM in Toronto; she uses this really plush inner to wick moisture up. They also are super for overnight diapers for my son, who is a heavy wetter. You lay your inserts or prefolds in it, so I guess it's an all in two? I found her on Hyenacart when I was looking for a baby wrap (she has gorgeous ones). I think she also is on Etsy.

    The one I'm super curious to try is the GroBaby diaper in snaps. They look very nice. I could use something a little more convenient than tie dipes or prefolds when going out.

  41. karen Says:

    My favorite thing to do with my daughter is cuddle up in bed inthe morning & share some quite snuggling time!

  42. karen Says:

    I want to try so many: GADs, Applecheeks, Fuzzibunz to name a few. And my Smartipants are in the mail on their way here right now. :)

  45. Kristen Says:

    My favorite thing to do with all 5 of my kids, is walking through State Parks. They always have nice paths (for strollers) & lots of interesting things to discover & its something that all my kids enjoy doing together.

  50. Heather King Says:

    Recently, I have fallen in love with taking my kids on bike rides. I still don't have a buggy for my youngest, but I will occasionally ride with my middle baby to preschool and then enjoy a quiet ride home. The summer weather is here and any time of day is great for a bike ride! I also enjoy walking and/or jogging along with them while they ride their bikes, since I have a nice jogging stroller and my little man can come too!

  51. Heather King Says:

    My favorite diapers are Kiwi Pie OS fitteds, and GroBaby, but I'm still not a big fan of the velcro, and I want to try one with snaps.

    (I have chosen to use the Gro Baby diapers, by the way. Hope I like them!)

  76. Melissa Says:

    My favorite thing to do with my girls is taking them out to eat. I find we have the most fun. They really feel like they're getting away with something getting to pick out their own kid's meal and we have the sweetest conversations. They are 2, 4, & 6 years old right now.

  77. Melissa Says:

    My favorite cloth diaper is the MEOS in bamboo. It is so soft, and with an added doubler it is very absorbant! I love that it has no elastic so it doesn't leave marks on baby's thighs.

    Not sure what I would like to try next but the Smartipants has me intrigued,

    Favorite thing to do with kids: we LOVED the beach! We go for the day, take a picnic or eat home made dish and they just play in the sand and water. I'm also love to bring them to the gardens and let them play around, touch everything….flower, grass, stones.

  98. Clare Says:

    I'm so new to cloth diapering, its hard to pick a favorite diaper because I've only used each for a few months. Can I say a tie between my haute pocket diaper and my bum geniuses? I've been adding to my stash very slowly and buying mostly pre-loved and second quality diapers, so I'd be so excited to get a first quality unused diaper! There are so many I want to try–GAD baby, Swaddlebees, bamboo fitteds. Someone should warn you that this stuff is so addictive!!

  99. Autumn Beck Says:

    Favorite thing to do with kiddos: sleep…lol. I really love going to small towns and visiting shops, vineyards, gardens, and festivals: showing children a more cultural life.
