On March 3, 2008, I launched All About Cloth Diapers. Believe it or not, I would whine and complain for months to my husband that I didn’t see the point…Who was going to read my blog??
Michael encouraged me, often times having to force me to stick with it. But, 2 years later he’s laughing at my doubts.
All About Cloth Diapers now has over 3,000 subscribers! In the last 30 days it has received 22,725 visits, of which 13, 588 came from Google searches using cloth diaper keywords. That is awesome!
Of course, none of this would be enjoyable without that interaction and friendships I have made with my readers. I still get excited every time I approve comments (although my husband is a bit jealous that you guys talk way more than his readers).
I am so stinkin’ grateful for all that All About Cloth Diapers blesses me with. I am always striving to make cloth diapering a better and easier experience for you and those you know.

I was also thankful to find your blog. I didn’t cloth diaper my first, and as I approached having my second, we decided to go the frugal route and use cloth. I had lots of research to do. So many choices! Which to choose? and then How do I wash them without ruining them? I did find a friend in the area that helped me, but your blog was a great reference when I needed confirmation that I was washing correctly. Not to mention the product reviews! I am such a cloth diaper junkie now thanks in part to you. My husband thanks you too;) Our second daughter was born 30 November 2008 and with the exception of the first few weeks, we have cloth diapered full time and are now moving into potty training mode. I have no doubts we will use cloth on any future children we may be blessed with. Thank you for sharing your cloth experiences!

When our first daughter was 1, I decided to take my mom’s advice and use cloth (like she always did with us). However, all I knew about was the good old gerber flats and rubber pants (not to mention those awful pins!). That worked for a week and then I quit. Fastforward to our 3rd child and this awful diaper rash that wouldn’t go away. I decided to look into cloth once more. The hardest part was the millions of choices I had to make! I felt so overwhelmed! Then I found your site (close to the beginning of my searching – PTL!)
Oh, did I mention I badly need another box of flips for our baby on the way (only have 1 box) especially if our 18mo old doesn’t potty train this summer…. 
I spent hours reading your articles, reviews, recommendations, etc and was able to make good choices!! (Meanwhile I also that it was funny and encouraging that we are a classical christian homeschooling family about an hour from you!) We have been cloth diapering now for 6 happy months and are working on potty training #3 before #4 gets here in September.

(we had a complete disaster of a trip last summer in Arkansas and so I’ve been a little leery of camping since)

Autumn, I am so glad that I found your website and subscribed to your blog. I look forward to seeing what you have to say every time you write a new article. How have you blessed me? Your articles have been like an encyclopedia for me in learning many things….from what diapers to choose to how to get that stink out…from nighttime diapering to rash problems. You even helped me to figure out what I wanted when my washer died and I had to get a new one! What a great wealth of advice and information you have supplied to me, and everyone else! Every time I hear of someone thinking about using cloth, or even that they are having a baby, I always make sure to let them know about your website. I feel better about myself using cloth on my babies, and I want to be able to make other mothers feel the same way. Thank you for making life so much easier for all of us cloth diapering parents.

I have been CDing since our 2.5 year old was born. I found your blog not long after that. I have really appreciated having your blog to go to and see if you had any articles about some problem I was having or to check for another thing to try for night time diapers or whatever was going on at the time. I like the reviews you post from time to time and the info that you share. Boy am I glad you listened to your husband! I enjoy the fun tidbits now and then about your kids that are woven into your articles.

i got your cloth diaper 7 tips for moms over when i was really struggling with CDing my 4th, wanting to quit though i was weeks away from delivering baby #5 and had already invested (unwisely) in too many diapers that just didn’t seem to work. i’ve found your site an encouragement to continue, the 7 tips very helpful, and the reviews very useful. as a weird side, we named our 5th daughter Autumn b/c as soon as I saw your name I thought is was the perfect name for our little autumn baby who is doing well in cloth (despite me!).

When my son was born in November I started using a diaper service on a friend’s recommendation. After 3 months I started to think about how to go about cloth diapering on my own because the service was getting expensive, plus they were based in a town about 45 minutes away from me so the carbon footprint was getting bigger every week when they came to pick up and drop off diapers at my house. I didn’t know much about cloth diapers other than the fitteds with covers that the service offered, and I was feeling a bit overwhelmed trying to distinguish all the different types of diapers from one another. Then I happened upon your blog through a Google search, and I read your “New to Cloth Diapers” section. It was immensely helpful to have it all laid out and described in an easily understandable way, and I was able to narrow down how I wanted to start my stash from the information you provided. I perused the rest of your blog and found the reviews very comprehensive and accurate (through my own CD journey I find that I usually agree with your opinions.) But it really was your newbie section that kept me from abandoning the whole idea of doing cloth on my own — so THANK YOU! (Or maybe I shouldn’t thank you…because now I’m totally addicted to cloth!) Keep up the good work!

I JUST started cloth diapering my 10 1/2 month old son this week. I always thought cloth diapers were for poor people or hippies. My poor baby has struggled with diaper rash from day one, but I never thought to switch to cloth. Then we had to tighten up our budget and I was looking for ways to save. I looked briefly into cloth and started talking to my husband about it. In the meantime we switched to some less expensive diapers and started having little gel thingies all over my sons diaper area all the time, and his rash problem got worse! I knew it was time to make the switch.
Deciding to go cloth left me with about a million questions and very few answers. Enter your blog! I have scoured your posts for information, and it has been so helpful. First, your article about why you chose cloth and all the information on disposables really reaffirmed my decision. Also you break it down to the basics, making the decision to go cloth less intimidating. With your help I was able to pick some dipes and order them! They are on my sons cute little tush right now, and when they get dirty I even know how to wash and care for them! I just bought some material today, and I am even going to make my own wipes (I’m also working on making some wool dryer balls).
Going cloth is the perfect decision for our family. Not only are we doing something great for our son, and our budget, we are also doing something great for the earth. Thanks for creating this blog and making the overwhelming amount of information about cloth easier to digest!

I am new to CD although I have a 4 year old boy and 1 year old girl. I was always intimated by CD with my first child, and I wanted to cloth diaper my second, but when she was born I read that HE washers did not wash diapers well. I was discouraged and used 7th generation and G diapers. Due to my daughter’s sensitive skin, I researched CD again when she turned one, and realized that I COULD wash in a HE washer (very well actually), and that there was all kinds of wonderful, helpful information on the web. I am now full time CD my baby girl and even use them on my son at night, as he is not quite nighttime trained.
Well, your website was one of the MAJOR, helpful, encouraging websites that I came across during my month long search for my diapering system. I am now completely in LOVE with cloth diapers, and I have your website to thank for helping me sort through all the information about CD. Thank you for having a great website and blog!
My only regret is not CD earlier with my kids. I really wished I had. But better late than never. I will e-mail you a picture of my daughter soon.

I LOVE receiving your blog! It even inspired me to attempt to start my own. Though, I have yet to write an entire entry just yet….little ones make it sooooo difficult I don’t know how you do it!
We started CD’ing as soon as the meconium cleared out with our daughter who is now almost 8 months old. We learned about it from a friend and fell instantly in love (I did at least). All about cloth diapers gave me the information to convince my hubby that this was a viable option for us (since we are not only apartment dwellers on a budget at the time we purchased). I was able to compare different brands… consider various washing instructions and settled on the BG 3.0 OS… and our own wash routine that catered to our special washing circumstances. I have turned to your entries time and again these past months to help fix some stink issues… absorbancy issues at night… and discovered the FLIP and ECONOBUM (much to my dismay about three weeks after purchasing the largest portion of our stash… 18 more BG’s for quite a large sum). Other than the diaper info that is indespensible you have introduced me to tons of amazing products that I have never seen from WAHM’s and I have fallen in love with so many things!

I would never have tried cloth diapering without this site. I tried for the last few months of diapering with my last child and will try it again after my newest child comes. I also learned through this site that the type of diaper I was using, many people didn’t like, so it gave me hope that trying another cloth diaper would help alot.

I began cding our second daughter when she was 7 mos. After about a month of cding she was hospitalized with a serious illness. The experience was so overwhelming and scary that when we arrived back home I tried to give my stash away to a fellow cder. She wouldn’t accept them and told me I would go back. In the last month she recommended your site to me and I have been back to cding.
You have a gift of making the experience just part of daily life and not something to be intimidated by. You have a solution to every challenge and if you don’t you investigate until you find one. It’s a great attitude to be influenced by and is valuable in so many other areas of life.

With my first baby, I was interested in cloth diapers, but it all seemed so overwhelming and I had so many questions. Reading your blog (and getting to visit with you) has answered tons of those questions and helped me decide what diapers to try. I have been encouraged to see other moms doing the same thing. I have to say cloth diapering has become a bit of an addiction to me! =)

Around the time I was beginning to cloth diaper, I somehow ran across your email starter. It was great information so I signed up for the blog. I have learned so much since then. You helped make sense of all the different styles and lingo. I also learned valuable information about stripping and getting rid of the stinkies! I knew before my daughter was born in 2008 that I wanted to cloth diaper. But all I knew at that point was prefolds and the “rubber pants” my mother-in-law talked about using back in the 80′s with her babies (she still wonders why she can’t find them at Target). When I did my first cloth diaper google search, it took me about 12.5 seconds to get overwhelmed and lost. But then, I found your blog – it was exactly what I needed. Ever since then, I have relied on you for any and all questions and have referred a dozen other potential cloth-diapering mama’s to you as well.
But, as wonderfully helpful as you are in the cloth diapering department, I have to say that this is not the thing I love most about your blog. When I read your entries I feel encouraged and empowered as a mom. I read your entries and I think, “If she is homeschooling 4 children, two of them in diapers, and still has time to create this amazing blog, I know I can get through my day too.” I also love the seeds you plant that point people to Jesus, who I’m willing to guess is the only reason either of us can keep up with everything on our plates.

Yes, it is good question. Meta is my third child, I was 40, when she born. My sons 16 and 12. So she is little star from sky for me, and I decided to do my best for her, what I can. In my country cloth diapers is not popular, so I little by little tried to find info how, where, when to get it. And one day I found your blog. So many information, many news. And at last you did for me big present – you sent to me your book, like present. It was fantastic time, when she sleep, I read your book and learned from it, and day after day I had more info. And now I cant imagine how I can live without cloth diapers. And I every day looking for news from your blog. I loved it, read, and smile, and have here a good time, and got many interesting news.
For you are simple, you have hundreds shops, where is possible to buy it, but we in our country only do first steps in it, so I am very happy to have your blog. Thank for you, for your great job . Its for me – like shool.

I found your blog when I was pregnant with my 17 month old daughter and was trying to figure out everything related to cloth diapers – there was so much information and it was so overwhelming! The 7 part email messages that you sent really helped me get a big picture understanding.
Since my daughter has been born, I’ve searched your previous posts every time I’ve had a question about something – wash routines, stink, stains, nighttime solutions, etc.
I love your diaper reveiws and personally emailed you to ask for a trim diaper recommendation for my 25 lb 7 month old! The bumware extreme AIO that you suggested has become my favorite diaper.
Your older post linking a blog of a friend who makes their own diapers inspired me and I’ve since learned how to make my own CDs and will be training women in East Africa this summer how to make cloth diapers as an income generating opportunity.

I’ve been cloth diapering for almost 2 years now. When I first looked into it I was really sceptical. Then I found this site and I saw how it could be practical. I knew that if I made the choice to cloth diaper, it would have to be a permanent one and so I wanted to know what I was getting myself into and what things I might face in my journey. Most of that I was able to learn from this site. Now I come here to get encouragement when disposables just seem more convenient. I like that you are always honest about your own struggles with keeping at it. I don’t feel alone then.

I found your blog right about when I was first starting to look into cloth diapers about 2ish years ago. You were so down to earth & practical that I thought, how hard can it be?! I wanted to cd with my first but was so overwhelmed by choices I never went anywhere with it. I am pregnant again and really want to cd this time. If not for your site I think I would never have been able to make a decision. Thanks to you I have made my choice and have registered for them and will buy whatever I still need after. My dd was a small newborn, just under 6lbs and is still a skinny girl and I am anticipating that this next little girl will be too, so knowing what will work on skinny kids helped a lot.

Brought home our Ethiopian twins 8 months ago. I knew I wanted to CD because I hate the thought of the scary gel. Of course the twins came to us with several parting parasite gifts so I decided to wait until they were healthy before starting to CD. I only knew about Bum Genius when I started…your blog has introduced me to all the other varieties out there. Am in the middle of testing Gro Babies because of you. And am of course, very curious about the flip because of your glowing reviews. Mainly though, your blog is a helpful reminder that CDing doesn’t have to be complicated…you just have to figure out what works for you and go with it. You can take advice and recommendations but ultimately it’s about what works for you and your baby. (Also your cleaning suggestions have been unbelievably helpful!)

If I could make two blog post suggestions:
1-I’d love a glossory of all the acronyms AIO, AIO2, FSOT, WAHM etc. I went onto DiaperSwappers (as you suggested) and had no idea what most of those people were talking about because I don’t know the lingo!
2-My daughter is petite but my son is HUGE. 1 yr old, 27lbs–big gorgeous thighs and belly. I would love some recommendations for chunky babies.

I decided to start CDing with my second, when she was 6 months. I have many friends who’ve done the switch so I had some help starting by taking their advice. However, as I got into it I discovered there are so many products out there and so many different ways of CDing, I was intrigued to know if the method I was using was the best. I found All About Cloth Diapers late one night while googling….hmm, was it diaper pails, wet bags, or CD’s that smell like dead animal….well, at any rate, I was happy to find that ALL the questions I had were answered at ONE site – AND that I could trust the answers because the author seemed to truly have every CDing mother’s sanity in mind. THANK YOU! If it wasn’t for your Hard Rock review, I would’ve had to stop CDing. We live out in the country and have well water that is very hard – let’s just say I was looking for a COLONY of dead animals in my daughters room! I tried so many things, but the smell kept coming back. Thanks to your persistance, dedication and willingness to “try” products and methods for our sake, I am now a Hard Rock user AND plan to use cloth diapers for the next few (prayerfully!) babies we will have in the future! Again, from all of us – thank you!

“All about cloth diapers” has bless not only me but my husband and baby girl, who I guess is no longer technically a baby now that she just turned one. Your blog has helped me figure out what dipes are best for the type of baby wearing them (chunky or thin legs, heavy wetter or light, etc), how to fix issues like stinky inserts and stains, and has just all around kept me motivate to continue on with cloth even though the disposables scream my name at times. With your blog I have been blessed with help, motivation and determination to continue on with dipes that are best for my child and family. My daughter is blessed with no diaper rashes, I’m blessed to know there are other cloth diapering moms out there and my husband finds a blessing that with cloth diapers we are able to save money.
In receiving my knowledge and information from your blogs I have actually had the opportunity to help two family friends, both expecting twins this summer, learn more information and gain more interest in cloth diapering. I feel through the blessings of knowledge about cloth diapering I have gained, through your blog and reading others experiences and comments, I am now able to help others know about the greatness of cloth diapering. Many times I have told friends about your blog and what I have read as well as just flat out told them to go to the blog site so they could see for themselves how great and easy cloth diapering truly is. I gave birth to my 2nd child this last October. At the time, both kids were in diapers and it was becoming ridiculously expensive. I started considering cloth and 2 of my friends helped secure my decision. Ceri sent me tons of information and your web address was a site she directed me too. Jessica let me borrow her stash of small diapers. After trying the diapers, I had my own full-time stash started less than a week later! Your reviews helped tremendously!!! I was also able to understand the differences between different types of diapers. Thanks so much for your information! Now I feel like a pro. I just started CDing my now 18 month old a little over a month ago. It has always been something I was interested in but every time I tried to research it I got so overwhelmed by ALL the information and the gazillion different types of diapers. All About Cloth Diapers gave me the information I needed without going overboard and I finally got started on my CD journey! Good morning I have been CDing for about 7 years on and off. I have 6 children and have CDed the last three. I can across this site when I was looking for new ideas when my second daughter was having issues with the paper diapers and I was having issues with the CD’s that I had at the time. I am a mommy to two sets of twins (3 yrs. and 7 mo.) all boys.
I used gDiapers and disposables with my older boys and have been using both with the babies too. But I wanted to go to the next level and switch to cloth. I feel guilty about all the diapers I am contributing to the landfills and the money that I am spending is a definite negative too. I am just starting to learn about cloth diapering and getting my “stash” going. I am very excited, but as I started researching and googling on the internet, I became very overwhelmed! There is sooo much information out there about cloth diapering and so many different ways you can go about it. I had no idea where to start or what would work best and I started to second guess my decision. Then through a google search, I discovered All About Cloth Diapers and the first thing I saw when the page opened up was “What cloth diapers do I recommend?”. It was the first thing on y0ur site that I read and I was hooked!! Your information was so clear, concise, and right to the point. It helped put me at ease and reaffirm my decision to cloth diaper as well as get me started on what I would need. I have ordered some diapers and a friend is going to give me some of her stuff that she doesn’t use anymore. I cannot wait to get it all, wash it up and start using it!!! My daughter just turned 7 months old and we started CDing at 3 weeks. I’ve been subscribing to your blog since before she was born, back when I was trying to decide what diapers to buy, how to wash them, etc. I’ve enjoyed your honest reviews of products, especially comparisons of what you think would work with skinny vs chubby babies. I’ve struggled with cloth diapering 3 of my four children. I was never successful. We have a new baby due in just over 10 weeks and I’m ready to try again! All About Cloth Diapers has been a blessing to me by knowing that I can come here and find information on anything and everything to do with cloth diapering! Cloth diapering has shown me just how much waste one little person produces! And that I could do something about it. It’s been a blessing also because I no longer get upset when he poos three times a day. Sure I may have to wash sooner, but a wash is cheaper than driving out and buying more diapers. And better for our landfills. And water supply. Etc.

I have been using cloth with #3 since she was 6months old and wish I had made the choice with my other 2. I never thought I would be using CD because as a child I had the wonderful job of cleaning my younger sisters diapers/pail. I vowed at age 9 I would never wash out another diaper again! Our very quick story…After having chemical burn/rash issues with our first son (and using only prefolds) and a tramatic hospital birth, we attended the Bradley Method classes to have a natural birth with #2. Our instructor used GADs and was gracious enough to give me a quick show and tell lesson on the *new* cloth diapers. After several months of Google searches and being amazed/overwhelmed at the amount options, I stumbled across your blog and have been anxiously awaiting your updates ever since. We are now cloth diapering our beautiful little girl Addison (#3) (and natural hospital birth #2) – who is petite as can be so I am combing over all of your Sterling CD reviews!!!!I love that you have all of your issues and answers in one place, it really makes this journey enjoyable with all of the bumps you hit along the way!
P.S. We love the Cutiepoops one size on our toddler! The materials are nice and soft and this is the first OS that I have used with adjustable gussets, so nice that I can make them nice and big to avoid red marks on his amble thighs! The diaper doesn’t quite fit on Addison, but we will be trying again soon now that her cord has fallen off!!!

As a first time mom, there is SO much to learn, research, figure out, etc. When I started planning for my son’s arrival, I felt compelled (as I’m sure every mom does) to find the best, healthiest options for him. However, once I started looking into everything (from cribs to swings to clothes to diapers), it became very overwhelming. I knew that I wanted to cloth diaper my son, but with so many, many options and such a breadth of information out there, I almost decided that it was too much. Perhaps I should spend my energy and research on all the other stuff I would need to figure out.
I ended up developing some insomnia during the pregnancy, and late one night I decided I should try figuring out cloth diapers again. I googled and came across your sight, and that was it. Everything was laid out for me. There were recommendations to look through, which helped immensely to narrow down the field. Most importantly, there was there were posts upon posts by Autumn and other moms that detailed WHY cloth diapering is such a great thing. It sealed the deal for me.
Since Seth arrived, we’ve successfully cloth diapered, and although I feel confident that I’ve pretty much got this thing down, I can’t help but still visit and subscribe to All About Cloth Diapers. It has blessed me with the reassurance that I’m doing what I can to keep my little one healthy – and what a blessing that it. Thanks, Autumn!

I started cloth diapering about a year ago and your site was truly the only one that I trusted and kept coming back to. I have been following you ever since! Being new to CD there was so much information and so many products out there, but your trials of each diaper and explanation of the pros and cons…that is what a CD virgin needs! I have been on many sites for CD and you are one of the few bloggers that responds and interacts with your followers. That is just awesome! Probably the greatest thing I have taken from this site is it has helped me choose the right product for me. We’re expecting our first in about a month and I have always wanted to CD. This blog was so helpful when I started CDing my oldest, then 2.5 months old. The many different styles and brands are overwhelming to a newbie, not to mention the washing routines, detergents and rash cream to use or avoid as well.
We are awaiting our second LO in June and this blog has again been helpful for the newborn stage, which we skipped over with DD.
I have been able to spread the message to a few family members as well who may never have tried cloth if they hadn’t seen me doing it, and I know they enjoy your blog as well!

I believe the pocket diapers will give us a better chance than the Kushies and pre-folds that always let us down. I got the idea to cloth diaper after talking to my doula while I was pregnant. My husband was against it and my Mom made it sound less than pleasant. I looked at some other sites on cloth diapering and felt overwhelmed like I was having to learn a new language, so I gave up the idea. A couple of months ago after my baby girl was born I came back to the idea and decided to try to figure it out again. I came across your blog and signed up. It made cloth diapering sound so much simpler and I was so excited to figure out that there were a lot of other families who made it work. It’s always nice to feel like you aren’t the only one out there choosing to do it in a way most people consider harder.
I have really appreciated the advice on caring for cloth diapers. I didn’t know anything about detergents other than your typical Tide. I have learned a lot and now have cloth diapered my newborn for over a month!
Having a place to go and figure it out before I started has made a huge difference. I was able to care for the diapers and my husband has been really supportive of it once he realized it wasn’t buckets of poopy water and leaky diapers!
Thanks for helping me learn from your experience and prove to those around me that it doesn’t have to be harder to cloth diaper than use the disposables.

Well I started cloth using cloth with my daughter when she was about 15 months…only in the evenings and weekends.. she pottytrained before she was 18 months… I didn’t have long enough to truely enjoy it or figure out about everything cloth had to offer.. I soon found out I was expecting again. This time I was ready to jump into cloth with both feet from the beginning. I began researching and discovered how expensive some of them were… I’m really cheap and I don’t like to dump a bunch of money at a time… Soooo I started small and bought just a few to try first… I soon found patterns online and begged my mom who likes to sew to make me some diapers. We started with flannel and just velcro from the craft store… we soon figured out that the velcro just won’t hold for cloth diapers.. I began more research – bought a real pattern and ordered snap pliers and snaps… I bought a sewing machine for cheap and began sewing… using her serger when needed – soon she saw my true interest and that I was sticking with it and she bought me a serger for my birthday. I have continued to make cloth diapers for my son. Through this I have found other friends who use cloth also and they have built much of their stash with my diapers and they rave about them. I have introduced other friends to cloth just because the ideas of knowing someone who makes them and they also now use cloth at least on a part time basis. I have branched out to make different kinds of diapers and also have started to make simple dresses for my daughter too. I love that I can do something unique to most people (both sew and use cloth diapers) and it makes it easy to share my interest with people!

I found you through Twitter a few months ago when I had first found out I was pregnant. I was considering cloth diapers, and you were one of the first people to send me information about CD-ing. Your articles on different types of cloth diapers, how to choose what works best, and how to care for them really helped me out! My husband and I are now committed to cloth diaper when our little guy arrives in August.
Since I don’t know very many ‘real life’ people who CD, having a wonderful resource like your site is invaluable. I feel like even if I do hit a few roadblocks, I know where I can go for help and support.

I found this site while searching for diaper laundrying options. I love the wash suggestions and use many of them to solve my issues. Plus I found cutiepoops on here and can’t wait for my order to come but I have a long while before she catches up to my order. It is so fun to come on here and find reviews and just about EVERY diaper out there. Sadly at the moment I have plenty of dipes for our twins so it will be awhile before I can order more and justify it!

About 4 months ago some friends of ours came to visit and over the course of conversation we began to talk about diapering (they had a 5 mo. old). They told me they had decided to cloth diaper and were surprised that I hadn’t done it with my first (who was almost out of diapers at that point). I knew absolutely nothing about it at all and began to ask some questions. They told me they used Kissas and Charlie’s and that it really wasn’t that hard. So, I started to think about it and went online… well, that was my first discouraging setback. There was soooooooo much “stuff,” and it was all so expensive, and nothing made sense (AIO, OS, soakers, doublers, inserts, prefolds, fitteds, etc… we all know how overwhelming it is). Determined not to toss out the idea too quickly I started to read beginners sites and yours came up. I cannot tell you how helpful the simple format and clear “articles” were. You immediately became my favorite go-to site. I feel very well educated now and have found myself frequenting other sites who update slightly more often but am always most exctied when I see you have posted something new. Thank you for your help. It has changed our lifestyle and will have been a huge blessing (as impactful as my friends who first told me about it all) to our family! We are expecting our daughter in 6 weeks and we are both very excited to jump into the cloth diaper experience armed with prefolds, some kissas, a few small g diapers (hand me downs from a friend), four lil’ joeys, and some BG OS pockets.

Hi!!! I cloth diapered my first child 11 1/2 yrs ago. Back when Darla Diapers were the big find
. I stubbled upon your website 12 weesk ago, but it seems like soooo much longer ago!!! Feb 1st I got a call that a newborn baby girl needed a foster home. We had 3 hours to prepare for her…. we were picking her up at noon!! I wanted to cloth diaper her and do everthing right for her. She had been exposed to enough toxins prior to birth and NO WAY was gel, bleach and other chemicals going to seep into her skin. Well, Diapers have changed A LOT and I felt so lost!! Your reviews have potentionally saved me a lot of money!!! I’m again addicted to cloth diapers and I wonder if anyone else is cloth diapering a foster child? THANK YOU SOOO MUCH for the time you put into the website. I began sewing a stash of “poo pockets” for our daughter almost 4 years ago, but sadly, never got to use them because she was stillborn at term. I had always envisioned myself as a cloth diapering, breastfeeding momma for many reasons, and was extremely saddened when I never got to use my stash of lovingly made diapers.
Then, nearly 3 years ago, our son made his appearance in this great big world and I knew why I’d made that decision. I wanted to wrap him in love and trust, not some disposable diaper with actual content unknown. I stuck it out, even with my many mistakes and trials and discouragement from family and friends who figured it was easier just to grab something petroleum laden and derived product out of sheer convenience and ease of use.
In July 2008, I began doing some “research” into how to properly launder my diapers and get out stains and stumbled across “all about cloth diapers”. I am typically cautious about subscribing to any newsletter or online site but just couldn’t help myself because there was something different about this blog. It was informative, interesting, diverse and so very relevant.
I’ve been blessed by the information and the atmosphere of the site. Autumn did all of the hard, labour-intensive, exhausting research and I reaped the benefits of her knowledge and those of her other readers. I felt safer, venturing out into the then unknown to me world of “pockets” “AIOs” “AI2s” and the overwhelming regime of getting out “stinkies” and other stuff related to cloth diaper laundering, because someone else had taken the steps before me and had laid out the path so neatly.
What had at one time seemed so overwhelming became the norm and something fun and exciting, all because of the courage and blessing that “All about Cloth Diapers” has been to me. So exciting in fact, I decided to try my hand at creating my own diaper that would fit my children’s needs and the needs of other babies out there in the world. I’m happy to say that I’ve come up with a product that I love and really feel strongly about.

Our youngest son is 6 months old, and we just made the big switch to cloth about two months ago. I used this blog as a guide – it helped me understand the difference between all the types of diapers (pocket/OS/fitted/AIO), and the reviews have been invaluable! Cloth Diaper! How is it frightening to some! And yet for me it was the natural and obvious path. When I told my Mom I would do so, she thought I was crazy! Disposable was the revolution for her at the time. And back to cloth is ours…The “I buy, I throw” society is not one I want to share with my baby…

I started cloth diapering my son 2 months ago (he’s now 16 months) because of his eczema. It was driving me crazy that my doctor couldn’t explain that after using the steroid cream over and over, why it would keep coming and spreading. So I finally discovered cloth diapering through a mom in a playgroup. I then googled the brand that she used and stumbled upon this blog. WHAT A BLESSING! The information is so plentiful and even if you somehow can’t find what you’re looking for, Autumn is so helpful in the comments!

I haven’t started cloth diapering just yet because I’m still waiting for all the awesome stuff I just ordered. While waiting this website has taught me a lot of things. I feel like I could teach a class about cloth diapering even though I haven’t started, lol. I was so overwhelmed with all the cloth diapering info and this website has helped me make up my mind on which system I wanted to use. So this is what I am expecting to get in the mail . . . Prefolds with quite a few covers (Thirsties, Flips, & Blueberry coveralls) to use at home . . . All in Twos (Softbums & Bottombumpers) to use when we are out and about, I really want to try the Grasshopper but haven’t ordered any because I think I blew my budget, lol. I wanted to try the All in Twos because of the detachable snap insert instead of the sewn in soakers or the inserts to stuff into a pocket diaper. I want to use fitted diapers at night but haven’t ordered any just yet. That completes my stash along with my wish list,

I started cloth diapering 4 months ago with my then 18 month old daughter. We had fought with diaper rashes and infections since she was born and I always thought that it was me doing something wrong that was causing her all this discomfort for so long. When I found out that I was pregnant with baby girl number 2 (due in 2 weeks!!) I started looking into cloth diapers, and all of a sudden realized that it wasnt me at all that was causing the rashes … it was the diapers! My daughter has been in the cloth diapers full time since they arrived on my door step and she has not had one rash since!!!
I feel like cloth diapering is a gift. A gift to my daughter, for her sensitive skin. A gift to me, saves me alot of money on diapers! A gift to the world, cutting down on waste!!!
I have told everyone I know about how easy cloth diapers are and I have even converted 3 or 4 of my friends who have all switched to cloth!!!
Thank you so much for this blog! It was a life saver for me when I was researching what type of diapers to buy, how to wash them etc etc etc. Made the decision so much easier!

Much like these first couple of posters, I am a new mom who just started using cloth diapers about 6 weeks ago. When I was first getting started, I stumbled across your site (probably from a Google search, although possibly linked from another site) and love it! The down to earth opinions and advice and the simple breakdown of favorites are so helpful. My little girl is so happy (and stylish!) in the cloth.

I also found All About Cloth Diapers on Google when I first started doing research to CD my 1st baby. I fell in love with the site because it has so much information, all well organized, clear, and concise, and easy to find. I feel blessed to have had a source to go to when I had questions (all the time) so that I didn’t become over whelmed and want to give up. On the contrary, the more I read, the more excited I became about CDing. Thank you!

Your website has blessed me by helping me to see different points of views on cloth diapering (and laundering!) even though I’ve been doing it for over 3 years. It also has helped me to be able to share cloth diapering with friends who are unfamiliar with cloth diapering and all involved. I love to pass this website on to them!

I started cloth diapering my second child when she was about 3 1/2 months old (she’s now 11 months) and I was a total newbie! I spent hours on the internet trying to educate myself because I new no one who cloth diapered. That’s how I found Autumn’s blog. I have to say that this is my “go to” place whenever I’ve needed to know something on the subject. Cloth diapering IS easier than most people think, but it does have occasianal “hiccups” that need troubleshooting at times. I have found this blog IMMENSELY helpful a number of times. It’s so nice to have a place to turn to that has so many experienced mamas that can offer advice, from info on safe rash creams, to what kind of diapers work best for night time, to microfibre stinkie remedies….And I love that Autumn has actually tried and tested everything she recommends (and doesn’t recommend ;p). I only wish that I had known about CDing when I had my first born! We had a terrible time with rashes with disposables, but unfortunately I didn’t have a clue about cloth options! This blog is a tremendous help to both newbies and experienced CDing mamas! Thank you Autumn!! I will send a pic of my lil’ Lyric to your email!

I found your blog after Id already been CDing for 18months or so. What really keeps me reading is your reviews. Im now in love with grasshopper diapers and I never would have found them otherwise.
I do send newbies over to read what you have to say, so being able to help and direct those who are interested is a blessing as well.

This is my go-to site. I read your blogs all the time and forward them to other mommas. I just sent your website to a go-green blogger suggesting that they do a podcast episode on cloth diapering. It is so nice to have a resource with such a wide breadth of CD topics and support to refer people to. Thanks for doing what you do!

Case in point, Rockin Green and Sbish (my very guilty pleasure – I get so many compliments on my Sbish wool longies and it’s all thanks to you!). At first your blog helped me to figure out which diaper system I should purchase first. I went with prefolds with covers and a couple of BumGenius. After a few months, your blogged helped me to figure out a wash schedule adn how to get stinkies out. Now, your blog helps to maintain my cloth diaper addiction! Every new diaper you feature, I want more! Thanks for showing me a better way to diaper my little one!

Cloth diapers have been such an amazing experience for me! We knew we would start out with prefolds and wrap-style covers, then move on to pockets, and I have since experimented with fitteds, wool (allergic, dang it!), fleece, and homemade all-in-ones. I have some flips on the way that I am dying to try out! Your website is the first place I found out about Rockin Green Soap, and that forever changed diaper laundry for me!
Now, this isn’t about your blog, but let me tell you about the day cloth diapers saved my son’s life. No, that is not an exaggeration. It is quite likely that my son would not be alive today if I did not use cloth diapers. It was the day we got him circumcised, after much discussion and arguing, the choice had been made, but we decided to wait to let him get used to being born first rather than first thing in the hospital. He was 6 weeks old, and they told us the procedure went well, and sent me home with a little list of care instructions, including the instruction that some bleeding is normal.
Well, he had some bleeding, so I held pressure on it and it stopped, so I put on a Fuzzibunz pocket diaper and went on with my day. Changed him again a bit later, more blood but still not a ton, so I held pressure on it, it stopped, new Fuzzibunz. At this point we took a nap because I had been up all night worrying, and he was pretty tired. Woke up and changed his diaper, and quite nearly passed out. It was literally soaked in blood. I had to stop several times mid-diaper change to put my head between my knees so I wouldn’t pass out. I held pressure on it for 10 minutes, but it was still oozing slightly.
Of course, we head straight to the children’s hospital, in triage they needed help removing the prefold and snappi, but the nurses were shocked when they saw that the blood had soaked all the way through the prefold (in newspaper fold, so the front had all 3 layers). After some blood tests (during which he was pretty calm, borderline lethargic, which was absolutely terrifying), he was given an emergency blood transfusion and taken back to another surgery to correct the bleeding, under general anaesthesia this time.
Thankfully, he has recovered completely and is a totally normal and healthy 7 month old baby boy now. I read a story the other day that started out identical to mine and my son’s, but ended very differently. They noticed the blood, but it didn’t seem like much in their disposable diapers, so they didn’t take him in til the next morning when he was already pale and lethargic. Their little boy didn’t make it. Cloth diapers quite literally saved my son’s life.
And yes, Rockin Green did get the blood stains out of my diapers (well, except the one my MIL threw away, but that’s a whole ‘nother story) .

I’m not sure if I would qualify for the giveaway but I figure I would submit something just to let you know about how your wonderful website has opened my eyes. My fiancé and I have not been blessed with a child yet but we are waiting patiently, and to be honest I never thought there was another option to disposable diapers but then while looking online on hundreds of baby websites I saw cloth diapers gaining in popularity, so I thought I would read more into them, and wow I can’t believe the amount of information you can get online, not all good but once I saw your blog I subscribed and was hooked, I have read through most of your wonderful information and thank you for it. I believe now thanks to you I will be more confident in buying my cloth diaper collection and will be able to proudly say to people who stick their nose up at me for using them on my baby I am not only saving the environment but my piggy bank. Please keep blogging and I will keep reading because I really value the advice.

Before discovering the blogging world in August (2009), I had never even though about using cloth diapers…or had really even known that they existed (besides your typical pre-folds and plastic pants). After finding a few blogs that were dedicated to cloth diapers, I found All About Cloth Diapers. I was so happy…my fiancee though I was going to faint! LOL. I come back here often to learn as much as I can. There is so much about cloth that I didn’t, and still don’t, know. But, I really am learning. I am finishing off my 2 1/2 year old off with cloth before he is completely potty trained. And I am stocking up for the next baby. I have learned the right way to wash and dry my diapers. Ways of preventing leaks. Tips on preventing smells. Good diapers to try out. You name….All About Cloth Diapers has it! Thanks so much! I will continue to come here when I have questions…or doubts. And I will be telling all my friend and family as well. :0)

I am a new mom and totally new to CD-ing. My hubby wanted me to CD and said I ought to try it out since his mama and the Amish all cloth diaper and do just fine with it (we live near the amish and are friends with some….my midwife is amish too!), so at first I was very nervous, thinking my only option was to use thoswe yucky Gerber prefolds.
So I started to google. Thats how I found your blog, about a year ago, and I have read just about every post since I joined. It has helped me figure out what style diaper would be best for me and my son. And you opened me up to the world of AWESOME cloth diapers!!!
I am very very very very greatful for you writing this blog…..I dont know where I would be with out it!!
I have a TON more to say but hubby just came in so I need to get off here…..

All About Cloth Diapers has blessed me by walking me through an overwhelming new world and helped me figure out ways to keep doing something not many people encourage me to do. It’s helped me show my children how to be good stewards of our finances, our health and our world. The information for newbies is priceless, truly. All About Cloth Diapers is a reliable resource with solid information and an owner that cares so much that she follows up with guidance and support. There could be nothing better to help someone start and continue cloth diapering: an against the stream activity.
