When there’s a hole, tear, missing button, or item that needs hemming I’m on it. The simple sewing tasks don’t intimidate me however, making a cloth diaper seems out of my league.
Of course that was before I discovered the dozens of websites explaining in great detail how to sew anything from an all-in-one, fitted, pocket, to a recycled wool cover.
Here are a sampling of the sites showing you how to make cloth diapers:
Diaperkits.com – awesome website for kits, patterns, fabrics and more
Buttknits – Amber of diaperkits other website for knitting patterns
Sew Your Own Cloth Diapers- all types of patterns
How To Make Prefold Diapers – scroll down the page
Baby Bum Sweaters – wool soakers

Thanks for the list. This helps a bunch!
Which one would be the easiest for someone

I’ve got the Very Basic (easy) pattern found here: http://verybaby.com/patterns/cloth-diaper-sewing-patterns
The Very Baby site includes tutorials and sells every little part you need to sew various types of cloth diapers.

I LOVE sewing up diapers for my little ones. There’s such a special feeling seeing your babe in something you made. Especially something so darn functional!

I never thought I’d be interested in sewing my own diapers, but I’ve been inspired. This morning I went to the fabric store, searched the remnant bins and found exactly what I needed! I can’t wait to give it a try = )

Here’s another one for you – the Rita’s Rump Pocket pattern. It’s my favorite diaper at the moment – works great for my 18 pound little guy. It’s at handmadebyrita.blogspot.com. It’s a wonderful pattern – about as easy to sew as the Mama Bird ones (a tiny bit easier, due to not adding a fastener to the tabs).
Thanks for the list!
