If you’ve had a baby at home or in a birth center then you are familiar with that nasty herbal bath they suggest you get in after birth.  Pretty much you gaurantees that you will smell like an Italian restaurant for a few days.

I wasn’t looking forward to using it again but I know the benefits are tremendous.  You can guess how excited I was to find that Motherlove makes a Sitz Bath Spray eliminating the need to marinate myself!

Sitz Bath Spray contains witch hazel, yarrow, uva ursi, lavender essential oil and grapefruit essential oil.  Don’t be alarmed by the “grain alcohol” ingredient.  No it doesn’t burn even when you have a tear (at least I wasn’t affected).

 

The Motherlove Sitz Bath Spray was soothing and pleasant.  Whenever I had a day where I did too much and the pain/swelling increased I would apply the spray, rest and would notice a significant decrease in both symptoms.

Post-birth isn’t the only time I found this product beneficial.  I wouldn’t normally share something this personal but it is an additional benefit for the Sitz Bath Spray.

If you’ve given birth before you know the first time you are intimate with your husband post-partum is scary, painful and not very enjoyable.  No matter how you prepare or how long you wait there will be swelling and soreness afterwards.  Using the Motherlove Sitz Bath Spray after intimacy reduces the swelling and decreases your healing time.

Certainly not something they advertise in their product description but a definite use, none-the-less.

I have also been able to use the Motherlove Diaper Rash & Thrush ointment.  The ointment is not oily but more like the consistency of butter that is fully melted then brought to room temperature again. Hopefully 2 or 3 of y’all know what I’m talking about. :)

It is cloth diaper safe and you can apply it to your nipples and not have to wash it off before baby nurses!  This is the first product I will recommend if a mom and baby get the dreaded thrush.

    I’m not entering the give-away, but I just wanted to say that I use the Motherlove ‘More Milk Plus’ to help with my low milk supply and it seems to really help boost my supply.

    I LOVE motherlove! Their more milk plus was the ONLY thing that brought back my milk supply (and then some!) after I got mastitis really bad with #3 (and I tried many, many other things). I use it for a while after every baby now.
    I would love to try either one!

    I’m due in May and would LOVE to try the sitz bath spray…sounds amazing. After my other 3 births I used tucks pads, which helped, but a spray sounds great!

    i actually use the motherlove green salve on my excema-prone child. i’ll dab a little on his face when it flares up and we find ourselves restraining him or putting socks on his hands. nothing is a cure-all for him, but it calms the itch as well a steroid cream. win.

    I love Motherlove products as well. I have never used the sitz bath or the rash cream, but I have used their blends of herbal breastfeeding products and have had great success. In fact, with the help of the Motherlove products and my lactation consultant who advised me on what to take and when, I am able to exclusively nurse my 5th daughter (now 4 months old) when I was not able to make it past 2 months with my other 4 daughters.

    I would love to try the sitz bath spray. I’m due to have my little one in just a few weeks and still remember the pain from the other two. I’d love trying herbal instead of having to use that chemical antiseptic spray in the red can that the hospital gives you.

    Love, Love, Love Motherlove products!!! The Diaper Rash and Thrush is the BEST diaper cream I’ve ever used. I also adore their More Milk + to increase milk production. I wish the Sitz Bath had been around when I had my son (and 3rd degree tear).
