My Favorite Newborn Fitted Cloth Diapers

I have already began my stash for our new baby arriving Feb/Mar 2009. I am having so much fun, too! I cloth diapered Paisley from birth but my knowledge was limited as was my budget. I remember registering for Kissaluvs size 0 and asking my mom to buy them as the baby gift. What a huge blessing that was! KL0s were all I used with Paisley.

This time I’ve opted for a trimmer fitting and much cuter newborn fitted cloth diaper. So far my stash consists of 8+ newborn mutts (Muttaqin Baby), about 8 newborn Nanipoos and a few Goodmamas. I have a few other random ones as well that are equally cute and tiny: Kindhearted Woman (KHW), Righteous Baby, Peewell, Pampered Cheeks.

The best by far are the Mutts. The prints are great and the size range is the largest of the newborn diapers. Newborn Mutts will fit your baby up to approximately 15lbs. Most other newborn sizes stretch to a 12lbs max. Mutts do have one drawback and that is the poor absorbency. However, after using Kissaluvs (very minimal absorbency) and with the frequency you must change a newborn anyways I am not bothered with this.

Nanipoos are also a fantastic newborn diaper. They have a sewn in notch for the umbilical cord and are perfectly tiny. I like Nanipoos for their built in soaker and minimal snaps. In those early days ease and convenience are a must.

There are some other fitted diapers that I have been interested in acquiring before March. In my last post Heidi had commented about a cloth diaper giveaway she is having on her blog. I of course entered and checked out the website for this cloth diaper. The cloth diaper is a Breezy Babies Organic Bamboo fitted cloth diaper. The price looks great and I love that I can choose my fastener. (bamboo terry is snappiable where as bamboo fleece and bamboo velour are not)

Now when you check out Heidi’s blog don’t enter the giveaway ;). I want to win.

In a future post I’ll be showing off the newborn wool I’m having Nissi of Sapo Verde embellish!

Thank you for all of this information. I, too, am expecting a little one (our first) in March and am very dedicated to using cloth diapers. However, the clock is ticking and I still have yet to purchase any because I’m just not sure which ones will best meet our needs (and our tiny budget). This provides a great starting point.

    Take care and congratulations!
