I don’t like the idea of a wet pail, too many risks. I haven’t had any problems with using an open hanging wet bag (I use either a Ragababe, Planet Wise or a Kanga Care pail liner on the floor). Placing the Kissaluvs liner in a pail with a lid is a great option. You can sprinkle pail powder in after each diaper or prop the lid open to allow air flow.

So I am wondering which is a better option. I have heard from other CD’ing friends that they use a diaper pail (garbage can) and just have water sitting in it and then toss the diapers in that until they are ready to wash all their diapers. Is this ok? Or would you recommend this liner with an open container/no lid? What is better/worse and why?

if there’s heat and a closed space combined with the moisture of the contents you’re going to have sweating. when i use my kissaluvs liner i lay it on the ground and loosely twist the opening.

I bought this liner mainly b/c of your rec but I’m disappointed. It is sweating or leaking (I’m not sure) on the outside. I wash the diapers every other day so it isn’t that they are left in there long. Why would this be happening and do you know how to prevent it?

Very interesting, Autumn. And thanks, Vicky. I have a wahmies pail liner I’ve been using for almost five months. I like it but there is a smell when I open the pail (and the baby still consumes breast milk only). All I use to attempt to help with that smell is tea tree oil. You must be right about the air circulation. Instead of the plastic 13-gallon step-on garbage can I’m using, I’ll try something that is more open.

@lili, any waste basket wiil do for a pail and it’ll be cheaper than the diaper champ. i believe i linked to the diaper pail i use.

I don´t have a pail or pail liner yet, I just started trying cloth diapers. So is it best to have an open pail? I was planning on buying the diaper champ and a pail liner like the kissaluvs , but do you think that will develop more bacteria?
