This One Is A Game Changer! I Wish I Could Switch Out Every One of My Cloth Diaper Inserts With This.

facebooktwittergoogle_plusmail

This is so exciting for me. Have you ever tried something so amazing that it was a total game changer? I haven’t been around forever, but I have been cloth diapering long enough to have tried A LOT of different kinds of diapers and inserts. I have a passion for supporting products that are made in America. Throw in easy to wash and use, made to last, quality materials at a great price…what else could you possibly want? I can’t think of anything more, lol!

I say these are game changers because if I had the money I would seriously replace every…single… insert in all my diapers with this one thing. They absorb more than anything else I’ve ever tried and because they are a…prefold…they wash clean with no effort.

Alright…alright…I am totally keeping you in suspense. Drum roll please…

It’s Geffen Baby Prefolds!

Geffen1

I have fallen head over heels in love with Geffen Baby’s Jersey Prefolds. They stay soft wash after wash. Absolutely no pilling. No loose threads. And I swear it seems like they could absorb all the water in our kiddie pool if I threw them in. Well, almost anyway.

I pad fold them and place in which ever cover I happen to want to use. They are seriously the trimmest cloth diaper insert or prefold I’ve ever seen. I can’t believe that I hadn’t tried these sooner.

I am saying this because I mean it…please, if you have the money and the inclination you should buy at least one of these to try. I really think you will be happy if you do.

Sophia is now two **sniff sniff**. I’ve been using the size medium/large fleece and jersey prefolds which are approx. 16” x 18.5”. They are made of 4 layers of 60% hemp/ 40% organic cotton. I prefer the jersey a little more because they stayed buttery soft after repeated washing. But the fleece is still is an amazing choice if you like that instead (and still pretty soft). Fleece blends are good at wicking moisture away. This makes them very good for little ones that are sensitive to moisture.

geffen2

Geffen Baby also has cloth wipes, flats, and sized prefolds. One interesting product they offer that isn’t available anywhere else is their Absorbers Universal Inserts. They are made with the same amazing super absorbing material and organic fleece to wick away moisture. There are sizes to fit in any cloth diaper making them an excellent choice if you are switching out something like microfiber inserts for natural fibers.

Another cool thing: Geffen Baby is partnering with WAHM’s and boutiques that are interested in including Geffen Absorbers within the diapers they sell. Since Geffen Baby has complete control of every part of the manufacturing process they are able to do special requests about size, shape, style and even fabric. So if you are a WAHM or any cloth diaper manufacturer, partnering with Geffen Baby might be an amazing opportunity to offer a first class diaper with well made, trim and super absorbing inserts!

Geffen Baby is generously giving away a prefold to two All About Cloth Diapers readers.

Congrats! Carrie T. and Amanda V. are the winners!

The most important quality is absorbency, lol isnt that what a diapers for?!?! I think quality follows in the same category. Besides that I like the fitness factor, trim isnt too big of a deal except if I want a certain pair of jeans on my son, bit for the most part all his clothing is cd friendly :)

Absolutely LOVE Geffen Baby and am going to be stocking up on their prefolds when my next little is born in February. Love the trimness and that they absorb a ton and still stay soft in the wash.

Absorption is most important! I went to the website to order a couple. Do they only sell singles? I’m used to spending 1-3 dollars on a prefold. 7 dollars is pricey!

    Reply

    • Jennifer Reinhardt Says:

No, these are sold individually. However, the quality, absorption and trimness is much greater than you would find in a 1-3 dollar prefold. These won’t need to be doubled as often and will last through multiple children with no issues. I know that the price might be higher than you are used to spending or can afford, however they are a very good investment. You might try to see if you can find any preloved ones to buy.

  31. Kara Says:

Good fit is what matters most to me. I don’t mind changing more often for absorbency but a leak bothers me a lot. Quality is next. We cloth diaper to save money so poor quality diapers would be pointless. I’m a huge fan of double gussets, and even though I didn’t think it would matter before I got started, trimness is important too. Cuteness matters too but it’s hard to find a cloth diaper that I don’t think is at least a little cute.

  32. Amy Says:

Definitely absorbency and trimness, in that order. I have some great inserts that are super absorbent, but if they’re too fluffy, I don’t get the right fit and end up with leaks. These sound right up my alley!
