What a Blessing!

Cloth Diapers

facebooktwittergoogle_plusmail

When I started this blog in March 2008, I had very little expectations.  My husband sets his goals high and when he started spouting off numbers I rolled my eyes and said something like “how is that possible??”

Thank You!

Oh, ye of little faith..he should have said.  In less than 2 years I have accumulated the most helpful, caring, supportive, resourceful, humorous, and faithful readers I could have ever dreamed of.

When I’m having a bad day, inevitably there is a comment to approve that either makes me smile or reminds me that I don’t have it that bad.  When I’m having a problem, I look back over comments in a blog post I did on the topic and glean tips I never would have thought of.

You guys have kept me on track.  When I was so tired of dunking poopie diapers and wanted to quit, I remembered my commitment to you.  When I went to the beach for a week and wanted to use disposables…well, I’m not perfect ;)

I owe so much to all of you.  Being “just” a wife and mother doesn’t provide the income and praise that a career might, but I can honestly say that this opportunity to teach all of you has far surpassed any reward one could receive outside the home.  All About Cloth Diapers has been an example to my children, especially my girls, that a mother can bring in a small income (through book sales and my precious advertisers).  They have seen the discipline it takes to write a book and to stay dedicated week in and week out to providing content for you.

The joy and blessings I receive when I read an email thanking me for the information I write is humbling.  It is amazing to me that God has provided a way for me to do the things I love (teaching, blog design, comforting) all from the comfort of my home amidst all the chaos.

The drive to provide you with valuable tips has allowed me to try out many different cloth diapering systems and brands and to meet many talented wahms.  If it wasn’t for all of you I’d have stopped trying out different cloth diapers loooong ago when I bought my first bum genius organic aio! Oh, how I would have missed out!

Most of all, I can’t say thank you enough for your loyalty.  Without you this blog would not have well over 2000 subscribers.  Without you Not For Crybabies would not have received a donation over $300!  Without you many moms would have given up on cloth diapers- it’s through your helpful comments that many stick with it.  Without you my life wouldn’t be as joyful, because I truly get joy from each blog post I write.

I’ve learned that I underestimate how much I can accomplish when I have God helping me.  With the busyness of homeschooling I often don’t want to write a blog post when I start.  Always, though, after a dozen interruptions I’m passionate about what I’m typing. I pray for this blog and I pray for you.

My ultimate goal is for no one to feel like they have no where to turn when they are overwhelmed or just plain mad.  I read every comment and answer every question.  When you have those frustrating times please send me a comment.  You never know it may be me that needs you that day!

HI! I stumbled upon your blog and website right before I had my 2nd and in the midst of some cloth diapering frustration. I can say that your blog kept me going with cloth for my 2 yr old (hopefully soon to be potty trained!) and the baby. I have passed the links on to friends who use cloth as well. Keep up the good work!

I enjoy reading whenever you put a new article out and find myself clicking back to find other articles you have written frequently. Thank you! I am one of those that came running to your email in tears because of a diaper problem and even though we didnt figure out what caused the problem in the first place, I received encouragement from you to keep going and trying new things. The problem hasnt come back yet PTL!
Your blog and encouragement has been a blessing from the Lord.

I love your blog. I just wish it had been around back when I started cloth in 1999. It was very lonely cloth diapering back then!

aww…. a BIG Thank You back to you!!! You put out so much helpful information. In fact your recent post on diaper sprayers and the resulting comments gave me the push I needed to rig up a diaper sprayer and I’m SOOOO happy about it! I am MUCH more likely to stick out those tough days with the diaper sprayer than without :)

Autumn- You’re the reason I’m cloth diapering. I would have been so overwhelmed reading the thousands of posts in forums to get the information I needed. I am really thankful for your book. After reading it, I was ready to get started and avoid a lot of newbie mistakes. You’re doing a great job, I hope you keep it up!

Well, I knew there was a reason I liked you and your blog. :) “I’ve learned that I underestimate how much I can accomplish when I have God helping me. With the busyness of homeschooling I often don’t want to write a blog post when I start. Always, though, after a dozen interruptions I’m passionate about what I’m typing. I pray for this blog and I pray for you.” We homeschool and cloth diaper as well, and those two things on top of everything else a homemaker does can become overwhelming. Thank you for sharing! Thank you for praying. Keep it up! I don’t even know you, but your post makes me want to send hugs and say Awe, shucks, we love you too.

Thanks so much for the this
As a reader who’s child is not home yet , Yes I fall into world of waiting in Adoption. I can so agree it is not for cry babies. The wait was extended again this summer as the agency I work with went bankrupt ! The 350 families signed on with them pulled together and built the company back up. We where restructured a few weeks ago so the wait is longer , but I am so grateful that I am waiting. While I do planning and preparing for my daughter reading keeps me going. So this is a blog that lifts me up many times and reminds me yes she will be coming home. I have been grateful to have this blog and be learning each day.
    Thanks
    Shannon
