I’ve been hearing about LulaRoe for a looooong time. People were always mentioning it in chat groups that I was in. They would post pictures of themselves and I’d think, well that’s great, but I’d never be able to pull that off. After trying the clothing out I realize how wrong I was.
I used to believe two things.
1: Leggings were not for me.
2: Patterns are not for everyone, definetly not for me.
I gotta tell you, after having tried out LulaRoe, I can throw all that out the window!
I received items free in exchange for a review. However, all opinions expressed are 100% honest and true. I mean it, I even bought a bunch of stuff myself because I liked it all so much.
LulaRoe says they are “Where Fashion Meets Comfort” and carries a variety of styles including shirts, t-shirts, tunics, skirts, dresses, leggings, athletic wear, men’s items, and children’s sizes. The styles are consistent in shape and cuts. What changes are the thousands of prints that are available on each one.
This is both a good and a bad thing. It’s good because there are what seems to be an infinite number of prints that you can buy. The downside is if you see a specific one that you fall in love with, it might be almost impossible to find in the size you need. This is because there is only a limited number of each print done on each style of clothing. The graphic below shows how it works. Updated data for the graphic is that there are now 25,000 consultants and 3,000 pieces cut into each style.
A few good things to know if you’ve been interested in buying LulaRoe:
*You don’t order through a central website. Instead, you order through a consultant directly. This is usually done via Facebook groups that many of the consultants have set up. There are LulaRoe parties that can be held at people’s homes or you can also attend what is call a pop-up boutique online. Shopping like this allows you to get personalized help with selecting styles that work for you and finding sizes that fit.
*Ok, the sizing….I’m not sure why…but a lot of their stuff doesn’t seem to be true to size (I haven’t tried all the styles so I can only speak to what I have tried). The consultants are super helpful in that respect and there are a ton of resources online to select a size that fits you. To give you an idea, I ordered an Irma top. I’m pregnant so you think I would have to go big to get something to fit. Nope. I have a size Medium that fits my preggo belly perfect. Even not pregnant I wear a large. I’m also in their tall and curvy leggings while pregnant. I usually wear a size 12-14 pants but these fit so great as maternity wear (I have the top over my belly). My suggestion here is that you do research before purchasing and ask the consultants for their opinions on what size you should order…then take their advice.
*You can’t machine dry anything. The tags even say you will be sad if you do. I know lots of people that really baby their stuff. I’ve found that if I turn inside out, or even throw my LulaRoe in a larger lingerie bag, I can wash with my other clothing on cool or warm and have no issues. I do, however, hang dry…I don’t want to be sad.
Jessica, my LulaRoe consultant sent me a matching set of leggings. One for me and one for Sophia. The leggings come in four sizes. Adults: s/m (2-12) and tall/curvy (10-22 or in my case pregnant). Children’s are available in s/m (2-8) or l/xl (8-12).
Buy all the LulaRoe Leggings! I now have four other pairs that I purchased on my own plus another one that I got for Sophia. She calls these her ‘softee’ pants and they are among her favorites. I totally agree. The stay soft even after repeated washings. Of the 5 pairs I own, all but one have remained pill free and even that one is not that bad.
I was also sent a Lindsay Kimono to review. I love how soft and well made it is. And it totally fit. However, I had a vision of what I wanted to look like in it because I was using a photo of my consultant (Jessica) for inspiration. Let’s just say my pregnant version and her lovely figure didn’t look the same in it. I do think I looked fine in it, it just turned out to not be a maternity style that I was totally comfortable in. I can’t wait to pair it up with leggings and even my jeans after I have this baby though. I’ll have to update you with pictures then.
I mentioned the Irma top before (Picture above). I purchased that one my own as well. I used a stretchy belt I had off of one of my other maternity shirts to cinch in the waist. I really liked how it looked and I wore it a lot before it got blazing hot around here. I look forward to wearing that again in the fall.
LulaRoe is definitely priced at boutique levels. Nothing crazy, but probably not a good fit for bargain shoppers. However, as you can see because of all my purchases, I think the items are worth it. They are well made, unique and pretty. I love that I can have matching leggings with my daughter. I can wear the outfits out and still be comfy. And I’ve even turned the leggings into my favorite pj’s.
I always see people asking about legitimate ways to make money while staying home with their kids. LulaRoe is a great option. The start-up costs aren’t low. But it appears to be worth the investment if you are ready to work a successful business. Jessica, my consultant, provided me with this info to share with you.
