When you change diapers all day long, you become a pro at it pretty quickly. Snaps, velcro, Boingo’s…whatever, you have it handled! But what about everyone else? Caregivers, grandparents and some of our significant others aren’t so amazing at putting a cloth diaper on the right way. Lalabye Baby has you covered on this!
Lalabye Baby was created by a mom here in the USA and are manufactured responsibly in China. I was impressed with the quality as soon as I opened the package. This is a one size cloth diaper with four rise settings, covering you from newborn to potty training. The cover is a soft TPU with sturdy snap closures. Each diaper comes with a buttery soft rayon from bamboo insert and smaller booster. Additional sets of inserts are available for purchase as well. I was provided this cloth diaper to review, but I received no further compensation. All views expressed here are my honest opinions.
The really fun part of this cloth diaper is its versatility! You can either use it as a pocket diaper or an all in two. To use as a pocket diaper you would just use the included inserts and easily stuff through the wide openings. The micro suede interior will then be touching your little one and provides a stay dry feel.
If you want to reuse the cover you can just snap the inserts in on top and use the diaper like an all in two. You can reuse the cover as long as it isn’t soiled and just replace inserts during diaper changes. If it’s just wet, I lay the cover out to air dry and use it at the next change. I usually can get a few changes out of one cover like this. Unless it’s poo. Then it all gets rinsed and tossed in the wet bag. I only had one set of inserts for this diaper. But I still prefered to just snap in on the outside because it’s just more convenient for me.
One of the cool things is that whether you use the diaper as a pocket or AI2 you can snap the inserts in. This stops them from shifting or bunching.
Another cool thing is the color coordinated waist and hip snaps. This feature is what I was talking about when I said Lalabye Baby cloth diapers were easy for caregivers to put on. The coordinated snaps take all the guess work out of it!
I thought that the included inserts were absorbent enough (when I used both) to be sufficient for 2-2.5 hours use during the day. My kid is a super pee-er so I need more absorbency for naps and nights. The quality is high. After many washes everything is still in great shape AND the inserts are still super soft…I love soft!
Sophia still has plenty of room in the waist and legs. I just wish the rise was just a bit higher. I measured the rise to be around 17.5″-18″. Sophia is now 28 pounds, 33” and just turned two last month! These still fit, but would fit longer if the rise went up just a touch more.
All in all this is a good quality diaper at a very affordable price. Its versatility make it a good choice for many families. Have you ever tried a Lalabye Baby? What did you think?
